Building Flooded from Storm
A large storm had backed up the storm drains and the water ended up flooding into this commercial building. The flood water was not nearly as high but the standard is to cut the drywall twelve inches above the flood line. The act of cutting twelve inches above where the flood water touched is called a flood cut; not very fancy but it makes sense.
The first picture shows how high the water had flooded against the building. The second picture shows our crews in personal protective equipment cleaning up after the demolition while a supervisor looks on. Once the cleanup is finished we'll add air movers and dehumidifiers to the hall to dry it out before rebuilding.
